Five things that NEED to happen at AEW Full Gear

AEW Full Gear will be broadcasting live this Saturday from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. This is potentially the biggest event in AEW history thus far, with the self proclaimed future of professional wrestling, MJF, looking to capture his first world title.

AEW has been in the headlines for plenty of bad reasons over the last few months. They have an opportunity to forcefully push the ship back in the right direction with this show. Let’s breakdown what needs to happen in order for AEW to do so.

1. Jade Cargill stays undefeated

Cargill has taken the wrestling world by storm since her arrival in AEW. Arguably the best athlete in women’s wrestling, she is currently undefeated and holds the AEW TBS Championship. She is set to face off with Nyla Rose at AEW Full Gear.

I am going to get straight to the point. Cargill cannot lose this match. If anybody was going to end the streak of Cargill, it should have been Athena at AEW All Out — Rose isn’t the person to do it. The company needs more time to build someone to end Cargill’s reign.

2. Sting turns on Darby Allin

Allin and Sting have been a really fun team over the last year or so, but it is time it comes to an end. Allin has most likely fulfilled a childhood dream by teaming with the Stinger, but it would only be right to have him end his career as well. This can set up the build to Allin vs. Sting in which would most likely be Sting’s last match.

3. The Acclaimed win without help from Daddy Ass

The Acclaimed are arguably the hottest thing going in AEW right now. Quite literally, everybody loves The Acclaimed. They are the current AEW Tag Team Champions and they could be in store for a long title reign. It needs to get kicked into gear by a clean win this Saturday. Daddy Ass needs to be a good father and let his sons handle their business.

4. Swerve in Our Glory breaks up

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland have been a great pairing, even winning the AEW Tag Team Championships. With the direction things are heading though, they need to break up now. A Strickland heel turn would help The Acclaimed win without the help of Daddy Ass. It would also set up Strickland vs. Lee which would be an absolute banger of a match that everyone wants to see.

5. MJF beats Jon Moxley clean to become AEW World Heavyweight Champion

The final and most obvious thing that needs to happen at AEW Full Gear is MJF emerging victorious in the main event.

The last few months have been hectic for AEW, but MJF has remained a crowd puller. Since his return at AEW All Out, he has been so incredibly locked in. Every word he delivers on the microphone has been clear and concise. He is truly at the top of his game.

AEW lucked out by getting their hands on a young MJF and they cannot blow this opportunity. MJF needs to win clean on Saturday. No shenanigans, just a good old fashion victory. It will establish him as the cornerstone of the company. It will truly be the crowning of a generational talent.
